Kosovo celebrates a significant achievement on the international choral music stage as the “Siparantum” Choir has been awarded the Silver Medal at the Grand Prix of Nations, a prestigious event held during the European Choir Games in Aarhus 2025. Competing in the elite Chamber Choir category, reserved for the most accomplished ensembles, the Siparantum Choir showcased remarkable artistic dedication and interpretative skill. This esteemed festival featured over 130 choirs and up to 6,000 participants from 35 countries, where Kosovo distinguished itself not merely as a participant but as a potent artistic voice emerging from a small nation with a rich cultural heritage and a forward-thinking vision for the arts.

On July 5, at the historic Vor Frue Kirke in Aarhus, the inspiring concert titled “Nordic Night” took place. This collaborative musical event featured the Danish choir CÆCILIAKORET, under the direction of Michael Deltchev, alongside the Siparantum Choir, conducted by Memli Kelmendi. The concert emphasized the unifying power of music and its capacity to foster connections between nations and cultures.
The Siparantum Choir delivered a stylistically varied repertoire, prominently featuring works by Albanian composers, thus reflecting Kosovo’s cultural identity. The evening culminated in a joint performance of a choral piece by Edvard Grieg, creating a profound moment of unity and shared emotion between the two choirs and their respective communities.

GRAND PRIX OF NATIONS AARHUS 2025”

Kosova do të ngjitet fuqishëm edhe njëherë në skenën ndërkombëtare të muzikës korale përmes Korit “Siparantum”, që do të përfaqësojë vendin në njërin prej ngjarjeve më prestigjioze evropiane: European Choir Games & Grand Prix of Nations Aarhus 2025, që mbahet nga 28 qershori deri më 6 korrik në qytetin kulturor të Aarhus-it, Danimarkë.

Në këtë festë ndërkombëtare të artit dhe bashkëjetesës kulturore, mbi 130 kore dhe deri në 6,000 pjesëmarrës nga 35 vende të botës do të jenë të pranishëm, por Kosova do të zë një vend të veçantë – jo vetëm si pjesëmarrëse, por si dëshmi e potencialit të jashtëzakonshëm artistik që rrjedh nga një vend i vogël, por me shpirt të madh kulturor.

Kori Siparantum do të garojë në nivelin më të lartë të këtij festivali – Grand Prix of Nations, një platformë ku përballen kore të rangut të lartë botëror. Ky është niveli më prestigjioz i garës, i rezervuar vetëm për ansamble që kanë dëshmuar cilësi të lartë artistike, profesionalizëm dhe fuqi interpretative.

Pjesëmarrja e Kosovës në këtë kategori nuk është rastësi – është rezultat i një përkushtimi shumëvjeçar, që ka filluar të njihet në skenën ndërkombëtare, falë punës së palodhshme të artistëve dhe vizionit të një brezi të ri që beson se muzika është ura më e fortë për të ndërtuar imazhin e një shteti.

Përmes veprave shqiptare, ne sjellim në skenën ndërkombëtare tingujt e një kulture të lashtë, të pasur me emocione, ritme autoktone dhe histori të thella. Muzika jonë është zë i identitetit, kujtesës dhe krenarisë – një ftesë për ta njohur shpirtin shqiptar përmes këngës.

Kujtojmë se në vitin 2023, Kori Siparantum solli krenari për Kosovën duke fituar Medaljen e Artë në European Choir Games & Grand Prix of Nations 2023 në Suedi, në kategorinë e koreve mikse, duke dëshmuar se Kosova ka çfarë të thotë në gjuhën universale të muzikës.

Ky udhëtim është më shumë se një garë – është zëri i një vendi të ri që po shpalos ngjyrat e veta në hartën kulturore të botës.

The Siparantum Choir has been ranked 16th in the world in the category of Chamber Choirs & Vocal Ensembles, according to the latest update of the INTERKULTUR World Rankings – one of the most important international platforms for the professional evaluation of choral ensembles.

This is not just a success for the choir – it is an achievement that belongs to Albanian culture. It is a clear testimony that Kosovo and our vocal art are present and respected on the international stage.

Being placed among the Top 20 chamber choirs in the world would not have been possible without the outstanding work and dedication of our singers, collaborators, and everyone who believes in what we do.

Now is the time for this success to be acknowledged even more – and to be strongly supported by institutions, the cultural community, businesses, and all those who believe that art is a dignified representation of a nation.

Siparantum is not just a choir – it is the voice of Albanian culture being heard across the world.

On May 28, 2025, the Siparantum Kids Children’s Choir will take part in the first edition of the Children’s Choir Festival – CRESCENDO, held at the Catholic Church “St. Ndou” in Pristina, starting at 18:00.

It is an honor for us to be part of this inaugural edition, and we look forward to sharing beautiful emotions with you through the pure voices of our children.

📖 “24 Piano Pieces for Children”

We are delighted to present the first official publication of Siparantum Choir – the piano collection “24 Piano Pieces for Children”, composed by our very own Memli Kelmendi.

This book is a heartfelt effort to bring children closer to the world of music through simple yet expressive and imaginative pieces. It aims to blend musical education with elements of our cultural heritage, offering a contemporary and creative approach to early piano learning.
