Siparantum Choir (NGO) is the most popular choir in Kosovo’s music scene. The choir was created in 2017 by a group of citizens in Kosovo, from all backgrounds, with the same dream and commitment: the joy of singing, collaboration, and friendship with the aim of representation of the Kosovo rich culture in different countries of the world. Siparantum has successfully performed works of world-famous composers, from the Renaissance to contemporary music such as Bach, Mozart, Whitacre, Preisner, Runestad, Rabe, Rudi, Mengjiqi, Alickaj, etc., enriched with attractive choreography.

The choir has been conducted by the well-known Croatian composer and conductor, Josip Degl ’Ivellio, who contributed to numerous performances with Siparantum Choir and helped built artistic collaborations in Italy, Croatia, and Kosovo. The artistic structure of the choir today consists of solo performers, children’s choir, women’s choir, men’s choir, and mixed choir. Siparantum has been recognized by many musical critics throughout Kosovo and the world. The choir has a close collaboration with the well-known Kosovar pianist Agron Shujaku. Siparantum Choir was chosen to be part of the International Choir Festival “Nancy Voix Du Monde” in France (2018) where represented Kosovo for the first time in this festival. In France, Siparantum choir appeared in these popular places; Le Temple Protestant De Nancy, Héré, Grands Salons de Ville, Lunéville, Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-l’Annonciation Saint-Sigisbert. Siparantum choir also performed in Croatia in Hrvatski Glazbeni Zavod at the festival «Emil Cossetto», in the concert hall of the museum Mimara, Zagreb – Croatia. In March 2019, the choir performed at the Chiesa di San Salvatore and Basilica di San Antonio – Pontificia Universitá Antonianum, Rome, performance which was highly praised by music critics. The Siparantum choir successfully performed at many cultural activities and music festivals such as; DAM, ReMusica, Prishtina International Choir Festival, International Festival of Women’s Choirs “Lira”, Serious Albanian Music Scene- Tetovo, North Macedonia, Teho International Choir Festival, North Macedonia, St. Francis Church- Shkodra, Albania.

Siparantum Choir was selected to participate in the international choir festival of Europe “International Choir Contest Flanders 2019” – in Ghenk, Belgium, where the choir was honored with the special award “Honorable Mention”. As part of the IKV Flanders festival, Siparantum Choir held a choral concert in the “C-mine”- Genk hall together with the Hobo & Fagot Ensemble and Sax Ensemble, Balletschool Veronique Lenaers, Siparantum, Genk. e Siparantum choir performed also at the Eglise de l’abbaye Notre Dame de La Cambre, in Brussels, a concert which was highly praised by well-known critics of world music. Now Siparantum Choir is part of the latest CD of “International Choir Contest, Flandes 2019” among other participating choirs. The Siparantum Choir has recently been part of the festival at the “69th European Music Festival for Young People”, Neerpelt/Belgium.

The Siparantum Choir has been selected to participate in the World Choir Games 2021 –the most prestigious choir competition. This opportunity came as a result of the tireless work of the permanent conductor of Siparantum Choir, Memli Kelmendi who is a Member of the World Choir Games Council and represents Kosovo for the first time. Siparantum Choir is a result of the successful intensive work that is driven from the inspired community of voluntary members with the sole purpose, the representation of Kosovo’s diverse rich culture in different countries of the world.

Siparantum Choir won the “Golden Plate” in XII. International Choir Competition “Golden Tuhel Lime” -Croatia.

Recently Siparantum Choir is winner of the category in Open Competition, Musica Contemporanea in WORLD CHOIR GAMES (II Golden).
